Making cress seeds
We were learning about how plants grow and seeds sprout. We grew cress and sprouted broad beans in class. We watched how water moves through plants by putting celery in coloured water.
This is how my cress changed over time.

My Fruit Art
We have been learning about how a seed sprouts. I drew a picture of the inside of a pomegranate to see its seeds.

Snagit Reflections
Athens and I made a snagit video and published it to our blog. We answered the questions that Miss Ginders and Mrs Buchanan made up.
Quality blog comments.
We are learning to write quality blog comments. I commented on Kuini’s blog, used a greeting, positive words, one exclamation mark and made a connection. I enjoyed the photographs and how they are caring for their chromebooks. I think this is a quality blog comment.

My part in our movie
On Wednesday 11th November the seniors went to Sylvia Park to watch movies by Room 10, Room 9, Pt England and Tamaki College on the big screen.
When we created our movie, we had to do a plan. We made R into Maori patterns. After that we made U with some blocks. We made A with two touch balls. We made P with milk cartons. We created O out of a fruit called an orange and then used dye to colour it the colour orange.

We made T with two skipping ropes and two people were holding them. We made another A with the whiteboard that had hangman on it. We made K with positive words written down. The last A was made with a newspaper letter in the library.
I was part of the tech crew filming with the camera and tripod. I made the letter A with hangman as well. I feel proud of myself.

Going to the movies
On Wednesday we went with the seniors to Sylvia Park to see the movies that Pt England, Tamaki College and our school created. My favourite ones were the one that we made, Room 9’s and Kung Fu fighting. We weren't allowed to eat popcorn or have drinks but we had fun anyway. We were very proud of the movie that we made.

Sharing my Infographic
I have done my infographic about the different art I have seen on class blogs. I have
created a flower on my own with help from Mrs Grant. People have shared different artwork online.

Better Than Before
Hi! My name is Elisha. I am a Year 5 at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, New Zealand. My age is 10 and I am in Room 10. My teacher is Mrs Buchanan. My culture is Maori.
My favourite subjects at school are Maths, Reading and Spelling. I am working on being better than before at Maths, Reading and Spelling. My favourite book is Cabin Creek.
I like the New Zealand flag and I don’t think we should change it because it has been the flag for a long time. I admire my family because they help me if I need help, like with my homework. I would like to visit my cousins in Hamilton because I have not visited them in a long time.
